Metri Bio has welcomed Michael S. Rogers, PhD, to its Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Rogers is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and a principal investigator in the Vascular Biology Program at Boston Children’s Hospital, where his laboratory develops new approaches to understand and treat endometriosis-associated pain.
Dr. Rogers and his collaborators developed a non-surgical mouse model that captures lesion formation and pain-related behaviors seen in endometriosis, creating a valuable tool for evaluating potential therapies. His research has helped reveal the neuroimmune mechanisms connecting pain-sensing neurons, macrophages, inflammation, and lesion growth, while identifying opportunities to repurpose existing medicines for non-hormonal treatment. His expertise will support Metri’s work to connect human disease biology with pain-relevant, drug-screenable readouts and accelerate the discovery of disease-modifying therapies.
